Downtown GrooveFEST: Blues Brews & BBQ!

Welcome to all things Downtown GrooveFEST: Blues Brews & BBQs, held the third Saturday in September. This year the event will be held Saturday, Sept 16th! VIP events begin around 12pm at 447 RACE, include a street festival 5pm - 10pm, and an after party 10pm til late!

The event takes over the traditional “Summer Send Off” mid-September street festival with a new emphasis on Blues, Brews & BBQ while also taking advantage of the great local history of Cambridge, known locally as Groove City. “Groove City” got its nickname from the national touring acts that visited Cambridge as a part of the “Chitlin Circuit” on Pine Street.

…Informative presentation by Dr. Christopher “Catdaddy” Palestrant, D.M.A. and Adam “Deacon Blues” Nixon. Got the “don’t know enough about the blues” blues? In this dynamic presentation, Dr. Christopher Palestrant and guitarist Deacon Blues discuss differences in regional blues styles. What makes our region’s Piedmont blues sound different from Chicago blues? And what about Delta and Texas blues?
