Katie Mae's Country ShoppeKatie Mae Smith’s dream has come true with the opening of Katie Mae’s Country Shoppe in the former Pet Threadz location downtown.

“As a teenager and young adult I became very interested in the Amish lifestyle—their loyalty, strong faith, and work ethic are inspiring!  I had a dream to open a store to keep their inspirations going and to help others feel the warmth, comfort and peace that the Amish bring to me,” Smith said.

The heart-warming tastes and traditions she loved growing up in Amish surroundings in Dover, Delaware are being offered now in true down home fashion. Amish cooks will provide scrumptious meals, breads, pies, and more for in store eating, carryout, with delivery service available. (The kitchen will be open six days a week, but closed on Sundays, in keeping with Amish tradition.)


Décor furnishings and accessories—everything from candles, to rugs, to lanterns, flags, curtains, pictures, and shelves—can be viewed and ordered in shop and via her catalog, with quick turn-around time and fresh items available weekly.
