UPCOMING EVENTS

Our annual fundraising gala provides a chance to dress up a little bit and introduce you to all we hope to accomplish in 2016. It's also a great opportunity to take part in the best live and silent auction on the Shore. We'll post more details as they become available, but you can count on first-class food and music. Pick up your tickets HERE.

Help us celebrate the work of the Dorchester County Early Childhood Advisory Council as we celebrate the Momth of the Young Child with amazing family-oriented fun. We'll have arts, crafts, live music by young musicians and community groups providing fun activities. The event takes place in Cannery Way, and we will provide more information as it becomes available.

This annual beer festival by Cambridge Eateries helps us kick off the busy event season with offerings from dozens of regional brewers. Join us on High Street in front of the High Spot, where Chef Patrick Fanning is sure to have the smoker fired up. This event always features the best local live music and a great atmosphere.

The Classic has been an integral part of the City and County heritage for 104 years, and the sponsoring Cambridge Power Boat Regatta Association takes great pride in its contribution to this continuing tradition.

Cambridge has become known in the triathlon world for our flat courses and inviting atmosphere. While most of this race takes place outside of downtown, there will be plenty going on here on Main Street to entertain our visiting friends. Get out on the course and cheer on these amazing competitors during the day, and then come downtown to celebrate with the finishers.

Taste of Cambridge celebrates its 12th year of showcasing our city's amazing culinary heritage and the crabbing industry of our county. We'll gather in the streets to taste award winning dishes, cast our votes and see who reigns in categories like Best Crab Dip, Best Crab Cake and Best Crab Specialty. We'll have celebrity judges, but also ask you to help us choose the peoples' choice in all categories. This is the showcase event downtown, boasting two live stages.

Enjoy this all-you-can-eat feast at the 35th annual Seafood Feast-I-Val with live entertainment, craft sales, door prizes and displays. Feast on Chesapeake Bay cuisine including steamed Maryland blue crabs, crab soup, fried clams and fish, BBQ chicken, fries, hot dogs, corn, tomaotes, and watermelon. Gates open at 1pm. Feast hours are from 1-6pm. Free parking. Rain or shine. At Governor's Hall at Sailwinds Park, 200 Byrn Street, on the beautiful Choptank River. This event benefits the Cambridge Rescue Fire Company. www.seafoodfeastival.com.

The Cambridge Wheels Car Show brings dozens of the highest quality show cars right into the historic heart of our city. Some of these throwback beauties may have even driven these streets. Shops and restaurants will be open, there will be music and trophies awarded for various categories.

By popular demand, our annual celebration of Blues, Brews and Barbecue returns to Second Saturday September. We'll bring only the best live music, barbecue-inspired dishes and beer to this annual event. Help us say goodbye to another great year in downtown Cambridge.

Dancing, music, German beer, German and American food are all part of Crabtoberfest, a festival happening 4-10pm on September 17, 2016. Eastern Shore and German fare including bratwurst, wienerschnitzel, red cabbage, steamed crabs, crab cakes, crab soup, knockwurst, sauerkraut, and crab pretzels. Also featuring carnival games and activities for kids of all ages. Happening in downtown Cambridge on Poplar Street.  Admission is $5.  One of only two skipjack races left on the Chesapeake Bay. The race takes place, 10am-noon, on the Choptank River off Cambridge, with the starting and finish lines near the entrance to Cambridge Creek. The best vantage points for viewing are at Long Wharf or Great Marsh Park, or on the water by boat. At Long Wharf there will be bleachers, food vendors, and a radio-controlled skipjack demonstration for those who like their skipjacks on a smaller scale. Cannons on either side of the creek entrance will start and finish the race with a cannon salute. More info at www.skipjack-nathan.org.

Join us downtown as we welcome back IRONMAN Maryland participants from around the world. Cambridge is the host of one of only 13 full-distance IRONMAN endurance races in North America, and we are one of the only two cities that hosts more than one IRONMAN event. There will be THOUSANDS of visitors in Cambridge that week, and downtown is buzzing with live music and entertainment every night.

This annual event has become a tradition and celebrates its 40th year in 2016. Enjoy arts and crafts from local artisans as they line High Street from Dorchester Center for the Arts to Long Wharf.
