 TASTE OF CAMBRIDGE

crab-picking“TASTE” TO RETURN IN 2016!  Typically the second Saturday in July, Taste of Cambridge is a signature event not only for downtown Cambridge, but for Dorchester County, featuring many area restaurants and their best recipes for crab dishes in several categories.

Known for the “tasting” offered by area restaurants, all competing to win “Best of” crab soup, crab cake, crab specialty, and more! “Tasters” vote for their favorite in each category and then cast their ballot for the winner. Celebrity judges also make their choice!

The event also features a crab picking competition among local crab house pickers, a watermelon eating contest and great LIVE music.

The festival happens on the 400 block of Race Street and the 500 block of Poplar Street in downtown Cambridge, MD. Plenty of free parking available; just look for the directional signs.

DOWNTOWN FOR THE HOLIDAYS

cambridge-main-street-crab-basket-tree-sliderThere is no place like downtown during the holiday season. If you are the type of person looking to slow down the holidays and not rush through then downtown is the place for you. Plus but helping support small businesses downtown, you are helping keep our local small economy strong.

Downtown Cambridge features the bushel basket Christmas tree, a new holiday tradition started in 2014, holiday decor donning the downtown shops and street lamps, and special promotions and events like the annual tree lighting at the Courthouse and on Race Street. Also, you won’t want to miss the BIGGEST Christmas Parade on the Eastern Shore, happening the first Saturday of December each year. Add it all up and it is a special season to be downtown Cambridge.
